Taste of Vermont Fall Beer Tour

When I think about the Fall, one of the first places that comes to mind is Vermont. A trek along the many trails to soak in the picturesque fall foliage has been on my bucket list for quite some time, but there is also another reason I really want to visit Vermont…

The beer!

If you didn’t know, Vermont is home to some of the most exciting craft breweries in the country and they make some tasty beers.

To celebrate this, our friends at Long Trail, Otter Creek and Wolaver’s are bringing their Taste of Vermont Fall Beer Tour to the Craft Beer Exchange.

During the week of October 3rd, we will be featuring beers from all three breweries on tap at each of our 12 locations.

We will be giving customers a free pint glass with the purchase of a growler fill of any Long Trail, Otter Creek or Wolaver’s beer (while supplies last).

You can also join us for tasting events at the following locations:

2731 Delaware At Kenmore in Buffalo – Friday 10/7 from 2PM to 4PM

402 Delaware at Grove in Tonawanda –  Friday 10/7 from 5PM to 7PM

1442 Union & Center Street in West Seneca - Saturday 10/8 from 1PM to 3PM

4949 Transit Road in Lancaster – Saturday 10/8 from 4PM to 6PM

Cheers!

Fall Growler Promotion

As sad as we are that summer is just about over, we are totally excited for all of the fall seasonal releases. There is just something about the cooler nights that goes so well with Brown Ales, Octoberfests and Pumpkin Beers.

To celebrate the arrival of fall, we will be giving out coupons which can be redeemed for $2.00 off your next growler fill purchase. To get a coupon, all you have to do is come in and purchase a growler fill and we will give you a coupon to use on your next visit. The best part is, when you come back in to get another fill, we will give you another coupon. It’s kind of like a reward program, but without the wait.

Coupons will be available starting September 1st and will be available through October while supplies last (Don’t worry, we have plenty to go around). The $2.00 off coupons will expire on 12/31/11.

Be sure to check out our locations tab to see what is on tap at your nearest Craft Beer Exchange location.

Only a Few More Days Until the Buffalo Brewfest

We are extremely excited to be the presenting sponsor of this awesome event. There’s going to be over 100 beers to sample from a great lineup of breweries, plus food, music and entertainment. I also hear that many of the breweries will be bringing some of their rare specialty beers to the festival. The best part is that all proceeds from this event support the Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center Foundation.

The Brewfest is this Friday, August 5th, from 5:30pm to 9:30pm at the HSBC Arena. Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door. You can head over to http://www.buffalobrewfest.com for tickets and additional information.

Make sure you swing by our tent at the outdoor pavilion and say hello to the Craft Beer Exchange crew. We will be there providing information about the Craft Beer Exchange, handing out Craft Beer Exchange swag, and we also have some cool games to play with even cooler prizes.

See you there!

Welcome to the Craft Beer Exchange

Now that you’re here, you’re probably wondering what this whole Craft Beer Exchange thing is all about. Let me answer that by starting with a question of my own:

How many times have you headed over to the newest beer store in town hoping to score the latest beer from Stone or Dogfish Head only to be disappointed by an endless display of fizzy yellow, “regular” beer? I’m not alone here, am I?

Here’s the deal… it doesn’t need to be that difficult.

As craft beer drinkers, we have paid our dues and our voices are being heard. Every time we raise a pint of craft beer at a bar or restaurant we are making a statement that we want something better when it comes to beer. This is where the Craft Beer Exchange comes into play.

You no longer need to plan a special trip to a beer store or deal with long lines and parking woes at the supermarket. Now you can get quality craft beer right at your local Sunoco APlus convenience store.

I’m not talking about just a few selections either. You can find stuff from Rogue, Victory, Great Lakes, Southern Tier, Buffalo’s own Flying Bison and a whole lot more. We carry beers in 6 packs, 22oz bombers, and you can even mix it up and make your own six- pack from a selection of single 12oz bottles.

Now don’t get me wrong, I certainly enjoy beer from bottles and cans, but I absolutely LOVE draft beer. To me this is the freshest way to enjoy craft beer. In the past, enjoying a pint of fresh draft beer generally involved a night at the pub, a concept that doesn’t quite work when all you want to do is get caught up on this week’s Tivo recordings in your PJ’s. With the Craft Beer Exchange you can now bring quality draft beer home with you. Each of our Craft Beer Exchange locations in the Buffalo area has 12 rotating taps of craft beer available “to go” in our 64 ounce growlers. What’s really cool is that some of the beers we have on tap, like Flying Bison’s Rusty Chain, aren’t even available in bottles and cans.

Lastly, the Craft Beer Exchange isn’t just about the exchange of beer. It’s also an exchange of ideas. We are passionate about craft beer, the local brewing community and most importantly, the Buffalo beer scene. We know that community doesn’t work without an open dialogue, so we want to hear from you. We want to know what beers and breweries you want to see represented, what food you want to eat with your craft beer and any other ideas you have for us.

Hope to see you at the Craft Beer Exchange soon.

Cheers!
